A Bit About Me
Born in rural Clanton, Alabama, I grew up in an area that understood adversity. Devoid of tight, neatly pressed suits, the town where I was raised was filled with men in denim overalls and women in bright sun dresses. Hard work, honesty, and respect were the laws of the land. It wasn't until high school in the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama, that I learned how to navigate an office.
In my time at the University of West Florida, I have learned the necessary elements of professional life, such as communication, teamwork, and collaboration. It is my rustic origins, however, that have ingrained upon me the added elements of duty, hard work, and reliability. These elements are what guide me in my professional career, and they are what I would call my edge.
Work Experience
November 2021 - October 2022
For a little under a year, I worked as a Team Member at Whataburger. Mainly working as the fry cook, I learned how to be efficient in getting orders made in a timely manner. I also learned how to stay calm under pressure as the job's demands increased during the daily lunch rush.
October 2022 - Present
The rest of my working life has been spent as a Bakery Clerk at Publix Supermarket. Here, I have learned premier customer service skills as well as how to handle conflict. Being a more customer-focused corporation, Publix has instilled in me salesmanship and attention to detail as I decorate daily cake orders.
